We are in a Strategic Planning mode at The Ohio State University-at the University, College and Department levels. Our faculty and staff have been heavily invested in this endeavor for much of this calendar year. Faculty Profile: Meet Dr. Steve Loerch, a research scientist, professor, nutritionist and...a surfer?
A professor in the Department of Animal Sciences uses every opportunity to teach his students new lessons and skills even if that includes teaching them how to surf. Dr. Steve Loerch-a beef cattle nutrition professor-conducts research, teaches courses in nutrition and occasionally gives surfing lessons to his students during a yearly study abroad trip to Australia. The Farm Science Review
Two days before the start of Farm Science Review, strong winds over 80 mph cut through the air destroying tents and scattering debris. The winds threatened the existence of this year's Farm Science Review. However, by the time Tuesday rolled around, tents were repaired and back up and the debris was cleaned off the grounds. The Farm Science Review went on as planned September 16 through the 18th. Read More |
Ohio commodity groups and the Department strengthen relationship at the Ohio State Fair
During the Ohio State Fair, fairgoers had an opportunity to support local food producers by eating food sold by Ohio's commodity groups at the Taste of Ohio Cafe. Each year, the Department of Animal Sciences and commodity groups work together to ensure food booths and fair activities run smoothly. Read More |
